The law of oil settled at a forthcoming meeting

12/06/2012 0:00

BAGHDAD - Al Sabah
I learned the "morning" from a parliamentary source familiar with the important meeting will be held during the next three weeks between representatives of the central government and the Kurdistan Regional Government to agree on oil and gas law, which is still at a standstill for more than 5 years.

The source confirmed that the meeting may resolve the debate on this important law, paving the way for the Iraqi leadership to the global oil market, especially with the policies of the government to increase production and export. In the meantime, said the Kurdistan Alliance MP Hassan Jihad said The draft law of oil and gas made by the government to the House of Representatives did not agree upon the political parties.
Jihad said "morning", said the central government made a project of 2007 did not pass this law for many reasons it did not agree political parties. However, the parliament confirmed the source of the "morning" that "the government is going to make some adjustments to the draft law submitted by the subject in order to be accepted by all and put to a vote during the next legislative term. and oil law, which aims submitted to the Cabinet that "the ownership of the oil and gas in Iraq is for all people in all regions and provinces, and control of oil and gas so as to ensure equitable distribution of their resources among the people, in addition to the federal government management and development of sources petroleum in order to achieve the national interest at any stage of the petroleum operations through formations and bodies contained in the law.
